Come join us for a night of service and hands-on education in the kitchen! Young adults ages 17-28 are invited to participate in a service event on April 21st starting at 4pm. We are scheduled to help prepare and serve a meal for the families staying at the Ronald McDonald House in Aurora right by our own HTC. This is an elevated dinner experience where our group cooks alongside their Chefs. We enjoy a personalized cooking lesson while creating a special meal for families experiencing medical hardship.
Our group will arrive at 4pm and work alongside the chef to prepare the meal while receiving instruction on food safety, how-tos, and demonstrations. Once the meal is ready, we will serve the food and have a chance to eat and share stories with those staying at the house. After the meal, we will help to pack-up and clean up. This is a great opportunity to give back to the community while learning useful kitchen skills.
Once you register, you will receive an email from Anna with information on how to register through the Ronald McDonald House volunteer portal. There are only 7 spots available so register early to secure a spot. Please be on the lookout for that information as it needs to be completed in advance.
Come get outside with Backpacks + Bleeders! We will be meeting at Challenge Hill and Trails at Philip S. Miller Park for a group hike. Meet at the base of the Challenge Hill at 2pm. We will send a map to registered participants closer to the event date. We will hike the Challenge Hill Incline and Red Loop (2.5 - 3 miles total). Bring sun supplies - hats, sunglasses, sunscreen, protective clothing, and water. While we try to accommodate all families, this trail does require the ability to climb a steep incline in the form of stairs. Please be sure you look at the trail and information to make sure you are prepared. Feel free to reach out to John with any questions.
Kick-off your Mother's Day celebration with us! Mark your calendar for our annual luncheon for women of all ages! We will be convening at the Wright Room in Downtown Denver for a private upscale lunch in a private dining room overlooking the bustle of the city. We’re excited to have guest speaker Dr. Amber Federizo, a fan favorite from the Women's Retreat, joining us to give an educational presentation. This is a great event to connect with other women in the community, including those who have bleeding disorders, caregivers, carriers, and their daughters.
We’ve partnered with the Denver Pavilions to provide prepaid parking in their garage. Parking directions will be sent out closer to the event. Thank you to Octapharma and Pharma Fusion for their sponsorship of this event!
Families in Southern Colorado, this one is for you! We are excited to offer our first ever mini education day at Great Wolf Lodge in Colorado Springs on May 16th. This is an opportunity for families in Southern Colorado and other areas outside of Metro Denver to engage with each other and the chapter, get valuable education, and enjoy all the fun the waterpark has to offer!
Spots are limited so please registered promptly. Due to the limited number of rooms, priority will be given to those who live outside Denver/near Colorado Springs, and we won't be able to include all who want to attend. After those families are served, remaining rooms will be offered with priority given to families who attended Education Empowerment Days or our advocacy events February. Only one room is available per family. For the best chance to secure a room, you will need to register by April 15, 2026.
The event starts Saturday morning at 10am with the educational part of the event. We will open with two education session followed by a complimentary lunch hour and then the final session of the day. We will wrap up this portion of the event at or before 3pm. Families will then be able to check onto the hotel for their overnight stay and access the waterpark for an afternoon and evening of family fun and community connections. We are excited to bring our community together in this new and exciting way. Lunch Saturday will be the only meal provided, so families will be on their own for dinner but are encouraged to dine together and get to know each other.
Thank you to our sponsors, Takeda, CSL Behring, and Sanofi, for making this event possible!
Welcome to Family Camp – a free weekend getaway to build community in the mountains! Immerse yourself in an extraordinary experience designed for individuals, families, and children living with a bleeding disorder. Thanks to a generous donation in honor of J. Richard Long, we are excited to welcome families to join us for an additional night at camp! We will kick-off Friday evening with a game/movie night for families to enjoy before sleeping at the camp so we can all enjoy breakfast together the following morning. Camp will continue with activities, food and connection all day Saturday and into Sunday morning.
Our mission is simple yet profound: to unite the bleeding disorder community in a haven of fun, relaxation, support, and the forging of connections with like-minded families. Lodging and meals are covered by the chapter! The HTC also supports infusion education at Family Camp to give families a chance to practice outside of the clinic setting.
Family Camp is tailor-made for:
